Solid Machinist for Autodesk Inventor
You can use the free Inventor View application from Autodesk to open the latest Autodesk Inventor ™ files into Edgecam, on machines that do not have a full Autodesk Inventor installation.
You can download Inventor View from Autodesk. We recommend you keep up to date with the latest service packs, also on this page.
To ensure that Inventor models from the latest release can be loaded into Edgecam, we recommend you use the latest Inventor View version.
(You also require the Solid Machinist for Inventor license to load Inventor models into Edgecam.)
In Solid Edge ST you can model parts using a new technique called Synchronous Technology, and these parts can be saved to a new .PAR file format. Files in this new format can be 'manually' loaded into Edgecam and Edgecam Part Modeler, but they cannot be loaded using the Edgecam Launch button in Solid Edge. The traditional .par format is also available with Solid Edge ST - use this if you need to use the launch button.
