New Rough Grooving Strategy - Sequential Castellation

The Rough Groove cycle has been enhanced and now offers a new grooving strategy, Sequential Castellation.

The tool starts at one groove edge and moves to the other edge, producing full width cuts. It then goes back and removes the 'rings' left behind by the first cutting pass.

1 - Full width cuts from right to left

2 - Going back (left to right) to remove 'rings'

In many cases this strategy offers best tool life and swarf, and is recommended by a leading tool supplier.

The machining arrow direction choice governs the initial direction.
